There are very few things more inevitable than a sudden surge of rain to end a heat wave in Britain.

Many British families were sent running from beaches all across the UK as storm clouds opened up and washed everybody’s towels and picnic baskets away.

However, Manchester United could soon be set to weather their own inevitable storm at Old Trafford as Paris Saint-Germain are allegedly preparing a bid for Paul Pogba.

Every summer a new club seems to enter the race to sign the classy French playmaker, with agent Mino Raiola stoking the flames of all transfer rumours.

The Ligue 1 giants have become the latest club to allegedly express an interest, and with the 28-year-old’s contract set to expire next season, there is every possibility United could cash in before then.

With this in mind, the Mail report that United could turn their attention to signing Atletico Madrid midfield genius Saul Niguez.

Niguez has made 337 appearances for Atletico Madrid.

It’s claimed that United have been long term admirers of the 25-year-old, however, his astronomical £128 million buy-out clause always scared the Red Devils away.

But, with Atletico Madrid struggling beneath mounting debts amassed since the Coronavirus pandemic, it is believed he could be available for as little as £43 million.

The Spanish midfielder has allegedly been offered to the likes of Juventus and Barcelona, but it is believed the Old Trafford club are best placed to sign Niguez, who has 19 caps for Spain.

Any move would also depend on how many funds United still have as they are also claimed to be closing in on a deal for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
