Man United legend and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville, has criticised his former side after their humiliating defeat to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side on Sunday afternoon.

Sky’s famous ‘Super Sunday’ came to a close with the clash billed by the broadcaster as ‘The Return’ with Mourinho heading back to Stamford Bridge for the first time since he was sacked amidst a storm of controversy last season.

The Portuguese was victorious the last – and only other – time he was in the opposing dugout at the Bridge, winning with his Inter Milan side. However, it was not to be this time around.

The Red Devils were humiliated as a rampant Chelsea side put a remarkable four past David de Gea in the visitors goal without answer from the likes of Rashford, Pogba and Ibrahimovic.

Neville, who was a part of the famous ‘Class of ’92’ at Old Trafford was working as part of Sky Sports’ commentary team, and was far from pleased with their performance.

His standout and glaring remark hailed the travelling support as United’s best performers.

“Man United’s best performers today have been the away fans,” said the nine time Premier League champion.

After Kante rounded off the scoring, Neville launched into a scathing review of the Red Devils’ defence:

“Chelsea are absolutely rampant and scoring brilliant goals.

“They are like mannequins those red shirts.

“He [Kante] has walked through £130m of midfield. It’s absolutely garbage defending.”
