Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured in training with Portugal on Tuesday, just hours after news broke of his explosive interview with TV presenter Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese criticised Manchester United owners the Glazers, as well as current boss Erik ten Hag and former manager Ralf Rangnick in the interview, which is scheduled to be aired on Wednesday and Thursday evening.

The reports have prompted Ten Hag to tell club bosses that the 37-year-old should not play for United again, ESPN claims.

The forward is now in training ahead of a warm-up game against Nigeria on Thursday, before Portugal’s World Cup opener a week later.

With Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United looking increasingly likely to come to an end soon, The Red Devils are believed to be eyeing up a potential replacement, and they are considering a sensational move for a superstar striker.

According to The Mirror, United are considering making a shock move for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

The report claims that the Premier League side could move for Mbappe, although he would likely cost more than £150 million.

United were initially planning on signing a forward when Ronaldo’s contract expires next summer, but the Portugal international’s shock comments have prompted the club to bring forward their plans.

Mbappe signed a new deal with PSG over the summer

The club would be able to afford the Frenchman’s £500,000-per-week wages, a figure that is similar to the amount that Ronaldo currently earns.

Mbappe has been one of the world’s most prolific goal scorers over the past few seasons, and he has started the current campaign in scintillating form.

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in 20 matches across all competitions for PSG this term, as well as providing five assists.

The France international, who will be hoping to lead Les Bleus to World Cup glory in Qatar, signed a lucrative new deal with his current side over the summer, but speculation continues to link him with a move away from the French capital.

In total, Mbappe boasts a remarkable record of 190 goals in 237 games for PSG, since joining the club from Monaco back in 2017.

Another name linked with a possible move to Old Trafford is Victor Osimhen, who has been in sensational form for Serie A leaders Napoli so far this term.

The Nigerian has scored ten goals in 14 games so far this season for Napoli, who have lost just once across all competitions and remain unbeaten in the Italian top flight.
