Manchester United travel to face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday evening.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping to see his side put their defeat against Fulham behind them at The City Ground, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

Last time out the Red Devils were beaten 2-1 by the Cottagers, with Alex Iwobi netting the winner deep into added time after Harry Maguire looked to have rescued a point for the hosts at Old Trafford.

The result leaves United sixth in the Premier League table and damages their chances of finishing in the top four this term and qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that United are set to offload one of their fringe players this summer.

According to Football Insider, Man United will look to sell Donny van de Beek during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Van de Beek has endured a difficult time at Old Trafford

It is claimed that the club are planning a significant clear out of fringe players, and the Dutchman is one of those that will be put up for sale.

The 26-year-old joined the Red Devils from Dutch side Ajax in 2020, having played a crucial role for the side then managed by current United boss Ten Hag.

Despite costing United a reported fee of £39 million, the Netherlands international has endured a torrid time in Manchester, making just 62 appearances across all competitions.

The midfielder spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at fellow Premier League side Everton, and was sent back out on loan to German side Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of last month.

Since arriving in Germany, Van de Beek has made five appearances, but was omitted from the Bundesliga side’s squad for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
