Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they face Bournemouth at The Emirates.

The Gunners have missed out on the title and are set to finish as runners-up for the third consecutive season, before they slumped to a 1-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

Mikel Arteta will therefore hope to see his side return to winning ways against the Cherries on Saturday, before the second leg of their European semi.

Away from the action, it appears that the North London outfit could be dealt another blow in their pursuit of one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal remain interested in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres but could miss out to rivals Manchester United in the race to sign the player.

The report claims that the Gunners are set to once again attempt to land the Swede, however the Red Devils could be in pole position to agree a deal.

Gyokeres has attracted interest from both Manchester United and Arsenal

Gyokeres, 26, joined Sporting from Coventry City in 2023 and has since established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific goal scorers.

In total the Sweden international has scored 95 goals in 98 games for Sporting, as well as registering 27 assists.

The report claims that United are keen to reunite Gyokeres with Ruben Amorim, with the pair having enjoyed huge success during their spell together in Lisbon.

Arsenal, however, are said to be prepared to do ‘whatever it takes’ to land the forward this summer as they look to bolster Arteta’s attacking options.

Gyokeres’ current contract with Sporting is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but the Portuguese outfit could face a battle to keep hold of him beyond this summer.
