Manchester United will be looking to keep their Champions League hopes alive when they face FC Copenhagen in Denmark on Wednesday evening.

Erik ten Hag’s side lost each of their first two games in the competition’s group stage, before a 1-0 victory over the Danish side a fortnight ago kept their hopes of qualification for the knockout phase alive.

The Red Devils will likely need to win in Copenhagen to have any chance of securing a place in the last 16 of the competition, but before then it appears that one of their most experienced players is being targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs.

According to 90min, midfielder Casemiro has emerged as a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

The report claims that the Brazilian is a target for Saudi clubs as they search for potential targets for next summer’s transfer window, after a frenetic summer of spending this year.

A number of high profile stars – including N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, and Riyad Mahrez – all moved to the Middle East during the recent summer transfer window, and it appears that Pro League clubs will continue to spend big for the foreseeable future.

Casemiro, 31, joined United from Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer and played an integral role for Ten Hag’s side during his first season in Manchester, making 51 appearances across all competitions.

He has played a further 12 times so far this term, but the report claims that Saudi clubs could even make an offer to sign the Brazil international in January.

Casemiro, who cost United £70 million last summer, is contracted to the club until 2026.

It is also claimed that Casemiro’s United teammate, Bruno Fernandes, is another player being targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
