Manchester United face Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways on Wednesday when they beat Newcastle United 3-2, having lost their previous two games.

Erik ten Hag’s future as United boss has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, with rumours suggesting that the Dutchman could be sacked this summer by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

One player that looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer is Christian Eriksen, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that the Danish midfielder is likely to leave United this summer as those in charge of the club look to reduce the wage bill and raise funds.

Eriksen, 32, joined United in the summer of 2022 after a brief stint with Brentford.

Eriksen is set to depart Old Trafford this summer

In total he has made 71 appearances for United across all competitions, scoring three goals and registering 12 assists.

This season he has played 27 times, but he has only started 12 Premier League matches.

The report claims that the club must sell a number of players before they can begin to sign new ones this summer, though, and Eriksen is named as one of those likely to depart.

It is also claimed that the club would accept a ‘small offer’ for the Denmark international, as they look to ease their profit and sustainability concerns.

Eriksen’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to run until the end of next season, but he looks increasingly likely to instead depart Old Trafford this summer, as opposed to next.

French striker Anthony Martial and veteran defender Jonny Evans are also likely to depart the club, the report suggests.
