Manchester United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford on Sunday in a game that could prove pivotal in the race to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

The Red Devils currently sit eighth in the top flight table, eight points and three places behind their opponents on Sunday.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be disappointed with his side’s season so far, with United having already been knocked out of the Champions League after a dismal group stage campaign.

The Dutchman will likely want to bolster his squad during the current transfer window, but it appears that United will have to move fast if they are to sign one of their top targets.

According to BILD via The Mirror, Man United will have to move quickly if they want to take advantage of the release clause in Serhou Guirassy’s current contract.

Guirassy has been heavily linked with a big move this month

The Guinea international is a target for the Red Devils and has a release clause set at just £15 million, but the report claims that the clause expires in ‘mid-January’.

Guirassy, 27, has been in sensational form for Stuttgart so far this season, scoring 19 goals in 16 games across all competitions including 17 in 14 Bundesliga matches.

The striker joined Stuttgart from French side Rennes last summer, having spent the previous season on loan at the German outfit.

United are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements having struggled in front of goal so far this term.

Only Sheffield United and Burnley – the Premier League’s bottom two sides at present – have scored fewer than United’s 22 goals in the competition so far this season.

The Red Devils spent around £75 million to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Italian side Atalanta during last summer’s transfer window, but the Dane has so far scored just once in the Premier League.
