Manchester United must beat German giants Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening if they are to stand any chance of reaching the Champions League knockout stages.

The Red Devils currently sit bottom of Group A, and will also need Galatasaray’s match against FC Copenhagen to end in a draw if they are to progress.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be desperate to see his side improve following their dismal display against Bournemouth on Saturday.

United were beaten 3-0 by the Cherries, leaving them sixth in the Premier League table.

Off the pitch, though, the club have reportedly made a shock proposal to a Spanish side in an effort to offload one of their unwanted players.

As per Sport via The Mirror, United have offered winger Jadon Sancho to Barcelona in a proposed swap deal involving former Leeds United man Raphinha.

Raphinha has attracted interest from Man United

Sancho, 23, joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but the ex-Manchester City starlet has failed to reproduce his best from since returning to the city.

He hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since August after a public fallout with Ten Hag, with the England international currently being excluded from the first team squad at Old Trafford.

United are therefore keen to offload the player but are aware that they may struggle to recoup the £73 million that they paid for Sancho two years ago.

They have therefore proposed a sensational swap deal with the La Liga champions, which would see Raphinha move to Manchester.

Brazil international Raphinha, 26, departed Elland Road to join the Catalan giants in the summer of 2022, and has since scored 12 goals in 65 appearances for the Spanish club, as well as providing 17 assists.

Barcelona were interested in Sancho prior to his move to United, the report claims, and the Premier League side are therefore hopeful that they may be tempted to agree a shock swap deal.

It is currently unclear whether or not Barcelona would entertain the idea of a swap deal, with Raphinha continuing to play a pivotal role for Xavi’s side.
