Manchester United are reportedly ‘on course’ to complete two big summer signings this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong as they look to replace departing Frenchman Paul Pogba, and they are now edging closer to doing so, according to TalkSPORT.

The report claims that Ten Hag is close to being reunited with the Dutch midfielder, who he worked with at former club Ajax.

De Jong, 25, was part of the Ajax side that were minutes from reaching the Champions League final in 2019, and secured a £64 million move to current side Barcelona during the summer of the same year.

He now looks set to rejoin his former manager, and it appears another of Ten Hag’s former players could also be following him to Manchester.

Antony could follow Erik ten Hag to Manchester

The report suggests that winger Antony will also move to Old Trafford this summer, following Ten Hag from Ajax.

The Brazilian has been one of the Eredivisie’s standout performers during his two seasons in the Dutch top flight, and would add much needed competition for places to hopefully force the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to improve their form.

Having arrived in Europe from Brazilian side Sao Paolo in 2020, Antony has since scored 22 goals and provided 20 assists in 79 games for Ajax, playing a crucial role in their league title triumph this season.

The 22-year-old will reportedly cost United around £40 million as he still has three years remaining on his current contract.
