Manchester United’s season went from bad to worse on Tuesday as they were beaten 3-2 by Turkish side Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Red Devils were beaten 4-3 by Bayern Munich in their group stage opener a fortnight ago, but were twice pegged back by their Super Lig opponents before Mauro Icardi scored a late winner for the visitors at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag is under increasing pressure to improve his side’s fortunes, with United having already lost four of their seven Premier League games so far this season.

The Dutchman has had to deal with a number of issues off the pitch in recent months, including a public spat with winger Jadon Sancho.

The Englishman is currently training away from the first team squad, and reports now suggest that he is keen to return to a former club.

According to 90min, the England international is keen to leave United and rejoin Borussia Dortmund in January.

Sancho could leave Manchester United when the transfer window reopens in January

Sancho, 23, joined the Red Devils from the Bundesliga club back in 2021 after impressing in Germany.

He had scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 matches for Dortmund across all competitions, but has struggled to recreate that form since returning to Manchester.

The winger has scored just 12 goals and registered only six assists in 82 games for United, and he hasn’t featured since the end of August after falling out with his manager.

Ten Hag cited Sancho’s attitude in training as the reason for excluding him from the United squad to face Arsenal back in August, and the winger then took to social media to respond to his boss.

The club’s response was to exclude the player from first team training, and it has since been reported that he will not be reintegrated to the first team until he apologises.

Despite that, the report claims that Sancho could look to leave the club in January and is keen on the idea of a return to Dortmund, who are said to be one of a number of German clubs interested in signing the player.
