The transfer window is now officially open, and Premier League clubs are wasting no time in venturing into the market.

Clubs across the division will likely be on the lookout for potential transfer targets to bolster their respective squads, including Manchester United.

Manager Erik ten Hag is set to stay put in his role despite overseeing a disastrous Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils did beat rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final, marking a second trophy for Ten Hag since he took charge of the club in 2022.

Now, it appears that United are plotting a move for a central defender.

Yoro has emerged as a target for Manchester United

According to Football Insider, the Manchester outfit are lining up a move for Lille defender Leny Yoro.

The central defender impressed for the French side last term, and his displays have attracted interest from clubs around Europe.

It is claimed that United’s scouts have been impressed by the 18-year-old and the club are now ready to rival other clubs in the race to sign the Frenchman.

Yoro is a product of Lille’s youth academy and has now made 60 senior appearances for the club across all competitions.

It is said that United’s scouts view Yoro as a ‘generational talent’ and as some who is capable of being a ‘phenomenal’ player at the highest level.

Yoro’s current contract with Lille is set to expire next summer, which means he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of France in January.

United are hoping to land the teenager this summer, though, and are set to soon launch a bid for the player.

Current United defender Raphael Varane is set to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of this month.
