The FA Cup fourth round gets underway on Friday night when holders Manchester United host Leicester City.

The Red Devils beat fierce rivals Manchester City to lift the trophy in May last year, and new head coach Ruben Amorim will want to see his side get as far as possible in the competition this time around.

United have endured a torrid campaign so far, though, and currently sit 13th in the Premier League table and look set to miss out on qualification for European football next term.

Amorim was boosted by the arrival of full-back Patrick Dorgu over the summer, although the likes of Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia departed Old Trafford on loan.

It appears, though, that United are still on the hunt for attacking reinforcements, and a former Man City player has emerged as a top target.

As per GiveMeSport, the Red Devils are interested in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap and could make a move for him this summer if they fail in their pursuit of other targets.

Delap is a target for Manchester United

The report claims that United will turn their attention to Delap, 21, if it becomes apparent that they will not be able to sign their two main targets, namely Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres and on-loan Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.

United’s intrest in a new forward comes despite the Manchester club having signed both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee over the past two years.

Delap joined the Tractor Boys from City last summer and is enjoying a fine debut season in East Anglia.

So far this season the striker has scored nine goals in 23 Premier League matches for Ipswich, helping them battle against relegation.

He is under contract with the club until 2029 having only joined last year, but the report suggests that Manchester United could come knocking this summer if they fail in their pursuits of other forwards.
