Manchester United dented Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes by holding the Reds to a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went ahead at Old Trafford and missed a number of chances to extend their lead before the break, but United scored two quick goals in the second half to turn the game on its head.

The Red Devils looked to be heading for victory, until Mohamed Salah converted a penalty to level things up and earn the visitors a crucial point.

Liverpool now sit second in the table, level on points with leaders Arsenal but behind on goal difference.

United, meanwhile, remain sixth in the top flight and look set to miss out on a place in next season’s Champions League.

One positive for United, though, has been Willy Kwambala’s recent performances in defence.

Kambwala has been involved for Ten Hag’ side recently, with senior players including Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez injured.

Kambwala impressed against Liverpool on Sunday

The youngster started the draw against Liverpool on Sunday, and the defender was largely impressive for Ten Hag’s side.

According to Football Insider, the player is set to be involved more heavily next term.

Kambwala, 19, made his debut for United against West Ham United in December, and has now played eight times for the senior side.

The teenager, who can play both centrally and at right-back, is currently contracted to Old Trafford until the end of next season.

It is claimed that the youngster has pleased United’s coaches, who are said to be ‘hugely impressed’ with his performances of late.

The coaching staff are of the opinion that the former France under-16 international ‘has huge potential’, and is therefore set to be more heavily involved for United next season.
