Manchester United could move into fifth place in the Premier League table with victory over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a number of underwhelming performances so far this season, Erik ten Hag’s side have cobbled together a string of narrow victories and therefore sit sixth in the table at present, just three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

Last time out, a brace from Scott McTominay earned the Red Devils a crucial 2-1 victory over rivals Chelsea, with the Scot scoring either side of Cole Palmer’s strike.

The Cherries have also improved of late, though, and could therefore provide a tricky test for United at Old Trafford.

Ahead of the game, it has been reported that the Manchester outfit are willing to sell three senior players.

According to The Independent, United have put Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane up for sale ahead of the January transfer window.

Sancho, 23, joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and arrived in Manchester as one of Europe’s most exciting young players, having scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists for the German side.

Casemiro could leave United if a suitable offer is made

He has struggled since returning to England, though, and hasn’t featured for United since August after a public spat with Ten Hag.

Casemiro, meanwhile, enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League last term after joining from Real Madrid, but has struggled to recreate that form so far this season.

The Brazilian hasn’t featured since the start of October due to injury, and the report claims that United are willing to let him leave as Ten Hag looks to fine tune his current squad.

The third player that United are prepared sell is defender Varane, who joined United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.

He has since made 75 appearances for the club across all competitions, but has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford of late.

With that in mind, the Red Devils are willing to allow the Frenchman to leave if a suitable offer is made.

Alternatively, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire – who both came close to leaving Old Trafford over the summer – are now regarded by Ten Hag as important players and are therefore unlikely to depart.
