Manchester United bosses are already considering handing Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho a new deal, which will keep him at Old Trafford into 2025, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The former Chelsea boss, who was sacked at Stamford Bridge last season, signed a four-year-deal in Manchester over the summer, after weeks of contract deliberations.
Despite having a rocky start to life at the helm of the biggest club in English football, the club’s hierarchy are ready to offer the Portuguese a deal which keeps him at the club for nine years.
The 53-year-old has won 24 separate major trophies in his career, including two Champions League titles and three Premier League titles.
However, the former Real Madrid boss has never spent more than three years at a club, during one spell in charge, meaning a long-term tenure at United would be unprecedented.
The club have already backed their man financially, making a statement by breaking the world transfer record with the signing of Paul Pogba, and therefore feel he will still be the one to bring the club back to the level where they should be.
