Manchester United fans thought they had time travelled during their exciting 2-2 pre-season draw against Brentford.

Andreas Pereira’s thumping 25-yard volley which smashed the underside of the crossbar before ripping the net off, had United fans reminiscing about the days of Paul Scholes.

It was one of the finest goals ever scored at Old Trafford, unfortunately for the Brazilian midfielder, pre-season goals are not counted in the goal of the season award.

Brentford did answer back, in fact they did it twice, equalising from academy star Anthony Elanga’s opening goal through Shandon Baptiste before pegging the Reds back once more in the second half thanks to a strike from Bryan Mbuemo.

Red Devils supporters have grown accustom to incredible strikes at Old Trafford, but Pereira’s strike will live long in the memory.

Another player who has scored many impressive goals for The Reds is Paul Pogba, but according to Eurosport, United have put a £45 million price tag on the Frenchman.

Could Pogba and Kimpembe both be starring for PSG

The 28-year-old has been tracked by French giants Paris Saint-Germain all summer, who feel he could add an extra cutting edge to their midfield.

It would also see Pogba reunited with international compatriot Kylian Mbappe, which would be a terrifying prospect for the rest of Europe.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking to recoup around half of the £89 million they paid for him in the 2016, they could also risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires next season.

Moreover, Pogba was one of the players of the tournament during Euro 2020, and he would have likely taken the gong were it not for France losing on penalties to Switzerland in the Round of 16 stage.
