Manchester United battled to a goalless draw against rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The hosts went into the game as overwhelming favourites, but Erik ten Hag’s side held firm and the Reds were unable to find a breakthrough.

Jurgen Klopp’s side therefore missed out on the chance to return to the top of the Premier League, with Arsenal currently a point clear at the summit after a 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

United, meanwhile, sit seventh in the standings but will undoubtedly be pleased with the result.

While United’s players were in action on Sunday, it appears that the club’s scouting staff were in Germany watching a potential transfer target.

According to 90min, the Red Devils had scouts in attendance at Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Stuttgart on Sunday evening.

Guirassy has started the season in scintillating form

England captain Harry Kane netted twice to help Bayern to victory, but it was Stuttgart star Serhou Guirassy that United’s scouts were keeping an eye on.

The Guinea international has been in sensational form so far this season, scoring 16 goals in 13 Bundesliga matches so far.

That tally is bettered only by Kane’s 20 Bundesliga goals, but Guirassy’s impressive performances have attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

United did sign Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund over the summer in a deal worth around £70 million, but the former Atalanta man is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League and it appears that those in charge of United’s recruitment are therefore assessing other targets.

Guirassy, 27, is contracted to German side Stuttgart until the summer of 2026, but he is believed to have a release clause in his current deal.

As well as United, it is also reported that Fulham, West Ham United and AC Milan had scouts in attendance at the match to watch Guirassy.
