Manchester United are yet to complete a signing this summer despite being linked with a number of players.

The Red Devils are said to be among the frontrunners to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, although the England captain is also believed to be the subject of interest from German champions Bayern Munich.

Another player that has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford is Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and it appears that the two clubs are set for crucial talks.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and United are set for crunch talks in the next 24 hours, with the future of the midfielder set to be decided.

United have reportedly made a number of offers for the England international, the most recent of which was worth £55 million.

Mount, 24, is a product of the Blues’ youth academy and has made 195 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists.

Mount looks set to leave Chelsea this summer

The Englishman has played a key role for the west London outfit since making his debut in 2019, and also played a pivotal role as Chelsea won the Champions League back in 2021.

His current contract is set to expire next summer, though, and talks over an extension failed to produce an agreement.

With that in mind, Chelsea are prepared to sell the player this summer but only if their demands are met.

It is claimed that representatives from both Chelsea and United will meet in person in the coming hours with a view to reaching an agreement, although United are said to be intent on reaching an agreement for a fee of £55 million.

Romano has previously reported that Mount’s representatives remain adamant that he will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

He also claimed that Chelsea are demanding £70 million for Mount, while United are unwilling to increase their £55 million offer.

Chelsea have already allowed N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and Mateo Kovacic to leave the club this summer, as owner Todd Boehly and new manager Mauricio Pochettino plot to overhaul their squad.
