Ruben Amorim will take charge of Manchester United for the first time on Sunday, when the Red Devils face Ipswich Town.

Amorim succeeds Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had been placed in temporary charge of United following the sacking of Erik ten Hag last month.

The 39-year-old takes charge of a side sitting 13th in the Premier League table, and he will hope to have an instant impact by guiding his side to victory at Portman Road on Sunday.

In the meantime, one of United’s most experienced players is reportedly being chased by his former club.

As per Trivela via GiveMeSport, Real Madrid are eyeing a move for United midfielder Casemiro.

The 32-year-old joined Man United from Real in 2022, after making more than 330 appearances for the Spanish giants across all competitions.

Casemiro is a target for former side Real Madrid

He has since played 99 times for United, but he has fallen somewhat out of favour over the past1 12 months after a dip in form last term.

The Brazil international has played 16 times so far this term but has only started seven of 11 Premier League games so far.

It is claimed that, despite Real’s interest in the Brazilian, the player himself isn’t keen on the prospect of a return to the Spanish capital.

Instead, the report suggests that Casemiro is keen to be part of the new Amorim era at Old Trafford and he is therefore likely to reject a return to Real Madrid.

Casemiro has been linked with a move away from United in recent months, with clubs in Saudi Arabia said to be interested in the veteran midfielder.

He is contracted to the Red Devils until the end of next season, meaning he will soon enter into the final 18 months of his deal.

Real are interested in Casemiro after a number of key players within Carlo Ancelotti’s side suffered serious injuries in recent weeks.
