Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw by newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United in Stockholm on Saturday.

The Red Devils started their pre-season preparations with a visit to the Swedish capital to face the Whites, and Ruben Amorim named a strong line-up that includes Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and new signing Matheus Cunha.

On Tuesday United travel to the United States for a pre-season tour, during which they will face West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton.

In the meantime, it appears that one of United’s most experienced players in edging closer to a move away from Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, forward Marcus Rashford is set to land in Spain to finalise a loan move to La Liga champions Barcelona.

Rashford, 27, is a product of United’s youth system and has now played more than 420 times for the Manchester outfit across all competitions.

During that time he has scored 138 goals and registered 77 assists, but he fell out of favour following the arrival of Amorim in November last year.

The England international was then sent out on loan to Aston Villa in January, but ha since returned to Manchester.

Romano claims that the Englishman is set to join Barcelona on loan for the upcoming campaign, with the Spanish side including an option-to-buy clause in the deal that means they can land the player permanently for a fee of around £26 million in 2026.

Barcelona are set to cover the player’s wages during his time in Catalonia, with the player taking a 15% pay cut to complete the move.

Rashford is under contract at United until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he may never play for his boyhood club again.
