The transfer window may have shut in England, but Premier League clubs still face the threat of interest in their players from elsewhere in Europe.

Countries including Croatia, Romania and Belgium are still in the midst of their respective transfers windows, meaning that clubs in those countries could still make moves to sign stars from English clubs.

Turkey is another country that enjoys a prolonged summer window, with Super Lig sides able to sign new players until the window shuts on September 13th.

With that in mind, it appears that one of Turkey’s biggest clubs are hoping to sign one of the Premier League’s most expensive players, with a deal potentially being struck as early as Wednesday evening.

As reported by Turkish outlet FotoMac via The Express, Fenerbahce are hoping to sign Manchester United winger Antony on loan.

The Super Lig club – managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho – are expected to finalise a season-long loan move for the Brazilian, the report claims.

Antony could make a sensational move to Turkey on Wednesday night

Antony, 24, joined United from Dutch side Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a staggering fee of £72 million, but he has since endured a frustrating spell in Manchester.

He has scored just 11 times in 83 games across all competitions for the Red Devils, providing only five assists.

Despite this, the report claims that Mourinho believes the Brazil international is an upgrade on his current options on the flanks.

It is claimed that the Turkish side are close to finalising a deal for the winger which could be confirmed on Wednesday evening – something that would likely come as a huge shock for United fans.

Antony is contracted to the Red Devils until the end of the 2026/27 season.
