Manchester United beat West Ham United comfortably on Sunday to leapfrog the Hammers into sixth place in the Premier League table.

Striker Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring for the Red Devils, before Alejandro Garnacho added a brace in the second half to ensure victory for Erik ten Hag’s side.

The result moves United up to sixth, one place ahead of West Ham.

Following the game, though, it appears that one of Man United’s most experienced players could depart the club imminently.

According to Foto Mac via The Sun, midfielder Christian Eriksen could complete a shock move to Turkish side Galatasaray this week.

The transfer window for Turkish Super Lig clubs doesn’t shut until Friday, and the report claims that Eriksen could join Galatasaray in the coming days, with the player having held talks with United chiefs over the proposed deal.

Eriksen could depart Manchester United this week

Eriksen, 31, joined United in the summer of 2022 after departing Brentford, and he has since made 63 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions.

The Dane has scored three goals and provided 12 assists in that time, but the report claims that he may have played his final game for the club.

Eriksen has featured fairly regularly for United so far this term, playing 19 times.

It is claimed that the deal would likely be an initial loan move with an option-to-buy clause included in the deal.

The Denmark international’s current contract is set to expire in 2025, but he may depart Manchester prior to that date.

If the deal is completed in time, Eriksen could make his debut for the Turkish side on Saturday when they face Istanbul Basakhesir.

The report also claims that, if a deal isn’t finalised by Friday’s deadline, a ‘promise’ will be made that the player will move to Turkey this summer.
