Manchester United will face struggling Southampton in their first game back after the international break.

Erik ten Hag will hope to see his side put their humiliating 3-0 defeat against Liverpool last weekend behind them when they face the Saints, who have lost all three of their Premier League games so far this term.

Several United players were criticised for their performances during the defeat against the Reds at Old Trafford last Sunday, few more so than veteran midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian was partly at fault for Liverpool’s first two goals, and was then substituted off at half-time.

Now, though, it appears that the midfielder has rejected a proposed move to Turkey.

As per Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazetesi via The Mirror, the 32-year-old has rejected a proposed loan move to Galatasaray in order to fight for his place in Ten Hag’s side.

Casemiro has reportedly rejected a loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray

The report claims that the Super Lig outfit had agreed a loan deal for the player with United, but Casemiro himself has rejected the opportunity as he wishes to prove his worth at United.

Casemiro joined the Red Devils from Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, ending a hugely successful seven-year spell in the Spanish capital.

He enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford, but his form dipped last term and he has started the new season in poor form.

In total the Brazil international has played 87 times for United across all competitions, but his place in Ten Hag’s side has been thrown into doubt following the recent arrival of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

Casemiro is currently contracted to United until the end of next season.
