Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly rejected the chance to move to the MLS and will instead stay put at Old Trafford for at least another season.

As per The Daily Star, the Portuguese was offered the chance to sign for David Beckham’s Inter Miami, but chose to stay put with the Red Devils.

The 37-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs less than 12 months after rejoining United, but Beckham was reportedly told that the forward is not for sale this summer.

Ronaldo enjoyed a successful individual season on his return to England, scoring 24 goals in 39 matches across all competitions, but it was a disappointing campaign for United as a whole as they registered their lowest ever Premier League points tally.

New United boss Erik ten Hag is set to meet his squad for the start of pre-season in the coming days, and the Dutchman will look to reassure Ronaldo, who has reportedly been unhappy at the club in recent months.

Ronaldo’s concerns centre primarily around United’s lack of transfer business since he returned, but Ten Hag will also aim to reassure him of his importance to the team and could even offer him the captaincy, which is currently held by Harry Maguire.

The Portugal international’s contract with United is set to expire next summer, when the player will be 38-years-old.
