Manchester United suffered defeat against rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils took a surprise lead at The Etihad when Marcus Rashford scored a stunning long range effort, but fellow England international Phil Foden drew the Citizens level with an equally remarkable strike.

Foden then doubled his tally and put City in front, before striker Erling Haaland netted a third in the closing stages of the match.

The win moves City a single point behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, while the Red Devils sixth in the table and look unlikely to finish in the top four.

There have been rumours in recent weeks that manager Erik ten Hag may face an uncertain future at Old Trafford, but it appears that one of his players will certainly be leaving the club.

As per Football Insider, winger Jadon Sancho is set to leave United this summer regardless of whether or not Ten Hag remains in charge.

Sancho and Ian Maatsen both joined Dortmund on loan in January

The Englishman is currently on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund after a public spat with Ten Hag, and the report claims that Man United will look to sell him during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sancho joined United in 2021 having been in sensational form for Dortmund, but he struggled upon his return to England.

In total the England international has made 82 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, scoring just 12 goals and providing only six assists.

Since making his return to Germany, Sancho has made seven Bundesliga appearances and provided two assists.

Sancho was dropped from the United squad in August after responding to Ten Hag on social media after the Dutchman appeared to criticise his attitude in training.

Despite spending a reported £73 million on the forward three years ago, the report claims that United would be willing to accept a ‘reasonable offer’ for the player this summer.
