Amad Diallo’s late goal earned Manchester United a useful draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

The Red Devils went into the match having lost five of their previous six league games, but went ahead after the break through defender Lisandro Martinez.

Cody Gakpo then equalised for the hosts at Anfield, before Mohamed Salah put Arne Slot’s side in front from the penalty spot.

The Reds looked to be heading for yet another victory until the closing stages, when Diallo struck to earn Ruben Amorim’s side a huge point.

The result means Liverpool extend their advantage at the top of the table to six points, while Ruben Amorim’s side sit 13th in the top flight standings.

With the January transfer window now in full swing, clubs will be busy off the pitch working to bolster their squads.

It appears, though, that one Manchester United player is eyeing a move away from the club.

As reported by CaughtOffside, forward Joshua Zirkzee has instructed his agent to explore the idea of a return to Serie A.

The 23-year-old joined United from Italian side Bologna during the most recent summer transfer window, but he has since endured a dismal time in Manchester.

Zirkzee could leave Manchester United just months after joining the club

Having netted on his debut against Fulham, the Dutchman then failed to score in 11 consecutive Premier League matches before netting twice against Everton in December.

His time at Old Trafford went from bad to worse last week, though, when he was substituted off 30 minutes into United’s 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United, with some sections of the crowd appearing to cheer Amorim’s decision.

The report claims that former side Bologna are interested in re-signing the striker, while fellow Serie A clubs Juventus and AC Milan have also expressed interest.

It is claimed that United would want to agree a deal that would see Zirkzee depart on loan initially, with an option-to-buy clause included.
