The future of Manchester United left-back Alex Telles looks to have been settled after a training ground bust-up with teammate Hannibal Mejbri emerged.

According to The Mirror, the pair were involved in a heated clash after a challenge in training, just days after United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 29-year-old will now be sold, the report claims, with Tyrell Malacia lined up to replace him in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Malacia, 22, is on the verge of joining The Red Devils from Ajax, to provide competition for Luke Shaw’s starting spot at left-back.

Mejbri was involved in the bust-up with Telles

Telles, who joined United almost two years ago from Portuguese side Porto, has been used as Shaw’s understudy for the majority of his time in Manchester.

During the training ground incident, interim boss Ralf Rangnick was reportedly forced to end the session early as he battled to save his authority over his squad.

Teenage midfielder Mejbri has already earned himself a reputation as a fiery player, having been booked 11 times in 34 Premier League 2 games, as well as four times during his eight senior appearances for United.
