Manchester United are set for a huge overhaul this summer, with a number of players leaving and incoming boss Erik ten Hag set to bring in new faces.

The Dutchman will be on the lookout for reinforcements in a number of areas when the window opens, with several players set to depart.

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Phil Jones and Nemanja Matic are all set to leave the club when the season ends, and Ten Hag will reportedly target a defender, central midfielder and striker.

One of the players set to leave Old Trafford has been told to reduce his demands, though.

As per ESPN, Lingard has been told by Newcastle United that they will not agree to his current requirements.

The attacking midfielder has been out of favour at United for some time now and will be looking to secure his next move as soon as possible.

Lingard has been overlooked for much of this season

According to the report, the England international’s demands of £150,000-per-week will not be met by the Magpies, who have emerged as one of the player’s most likely suitors.

The possibility of signing Lingard as a free transfer is appealing to a number of clubs, but his current wage demands are seen by many as too high.

The Englishman spent a successful six-month loan spell at West Ham at the end of last season and was offered moves to several clubs ahead of this term, but chose to stay put and work for his place at Old Trafford.

He has started just two Premier League games so far this season, and was an unused substitute during what would have been his final game at Old Trafford against Brentford earlier this month.
