Manchester United return to Premier League action when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford on November 24.

Ruben Amorim’s side started the season in woeful form, but a recent run of three victories and two draws has lifted the Red Devils up to seventh in the Premier League table.

The Portuguese will be desperate to see his side continue their recent good run, although the Toffees have impressed at times this term and will likely pose a difficult challenge for United.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the future of one of United’s most experienced players is becoming an increasingly important topic at the football club.

According to CaughtOffside, midfielder Casemiro’s future is becoming increasingly important as the January transfer window approaches.

The Brazil international is in the final year of his current contract with the Red Devils and, while United have the option to extend the deal by a further 12 months, the report suggests that those in charge of the club are hesitant to do so.

Casemiro, 33, has made 135 appearances for Man United since joining the club from Real Madrid back in 2022, including ten appearances so far this term.

United boss Amorim regards Casemiro as a pivotal member of his squad and is therefore keen to ensure the Brazilian midfielder strays put at Old Trafford beyond next summer.

The decision may not be up to him, though, as some members of the United board are said to be weighing up whether or not to extend the deal.

United have adopted a policy of lowering their wage bill, and Casemiro will therefore have to take a substantial pay cut if he is to stay in Manchester.
