Two late goals from Scott McTominay helped Manchester United to avoid a third home defeat in a week on Saturday as they beat Brentford 2-1.

The Red Devils had already lost to both Crystal Palace and Galatasaray at Old Trafford in the previous seven days, and they looked to be heading for a third consecutive home defeat when Mathias Jensen put the Bees ahead.

Thomas Frank’s side were heading for a historic victory when McTominay was substituted on in the closing stages, and the Scot then scored twice in added time to earn the hosts a valuable win.

The result leaves United tenth in the Premier League table after eight games, and manager Erik ten Hag will be keen to see his side build on their latest result after the international break.

In the meantime, one of United’s players is reportedly still facing an extremely uncertain future at the club.

As per Football Insider, winger Jadon Sancho remains in limbo at present amid an ongoing feud with Ten Hag.

Sancho’s future at Old Trafford remains extremely uncertain

The England international hasn’t featured for United since the end of August after falling out with the Dutchman.

Sancho was left out of the United squad for their game against Arsenal in September, and Ten Hag later cited his attitude in training as the reason for his omission.

The player then responded on social media and was subsequently ousted from the first team squad, with Ten Hag reportedly demanding an apology before allowing him back into the fold.

Sancho, 23, joined the Manchester outfit from German side Borussia Dortmund two years ago after impressing for the Bundesliga club.

He scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 matches for Dortmund across all competitions, but has struggled to recreate that form since returning to his homeland.

In total the Englishman has scored 12 times and registered six assists in 82 games across all competitions, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will play for the club again.
