Manchester United will need to beat Bayern Munich to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult campaign so far and sat bottom of Group A prior to their game against Galatasaray in Turkey on Tuesday.

Erik ten Hag’s side went into an early 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, before former Chelsea man Hakim Ziyech pulled one back for the hosts.

Scott McTominay then extended United’s lead, before Galatasaray scored twice to earn a crucial point and keep the Red Devils rooted to the bottom of their group heading into the final round of matches.

As well as beating Bayern, United must also hope that Galatasaray draw with FC Copenhagen if they are to qualify for the latter stages.

In the meantime, reports suggest that United could miss out on one of their January transfer targets.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is intent on staying at the club until next summer at the earliest, according to 90min.

Guehi has decided to stay at Crystal Palace

The Englishman has been in fine form for the Eagles over the past 18 months, and he has attracted interest from several clubs including Man United.

Chelsea, who sold Guehi to Palace in 2021, are also said to be interested in re-signing the defender who would consider a return to Stamford Bridge, but has decided to stay put for now.

The report claims that Guehi’s decision is in an attempt to maximise his chances of being included in the England squad for Euro 2024 next summer.

Guehi, 23, has established himself as a regular for the Three Lions over the past 12 months, having been capped nine times since making his debut in March last year.

Since moving to Palace in 2021, the central defender has made 96 appearances for the Eagles across all competitions.

It is also claimed that Palace aren’t interest in allowing the player to leave in January.
