Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim will take charge of his first home game on Thursday when his side host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town in the Portuguese’s first match in charge on Sunday, despite taking the lead within just two minutes.

Amorim inherited a side that had made their worst ever start to a Premier League season and sat 12th in the table, but the Red Devils are also struggling in Europe.

So far United have won just one of their four group phase games, and they sit 15th in the table.

Amorim will be desperate to record the first win of his tenure at Old Trafford, but in the meantime it has emerged that United are eyeing a move for one of Europe’s most talented attackers.

As per Italian outlet Sport Mediaset via GiveMeSport, the Manchester club are seriously interested in Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia has scored five goals in 13 Serie A games this season

The 23-year-old has been nothing short of a sensation since joining the Italian club from Dinamo Batumi two years ago.

In total he has scored 30 goals and provided 28 assists in 103 games for Napoli, and the report suggests that his impressive form has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

United, however, are said to have shown the most serious interest in the player as they look to add a world-class winger to Amorim’s squad.

The report claims that United are willing to offer the Georgia international a staggering £130,000-per-week contract over five years, as well as an extra £800,000 in ‘easily achievable’ clauses.

Kvaratskhelia was reportedly offered a similar deal by French champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.

His current contract with Napoli is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, and the report states that Napoli would demand a fee of around £83 million for the player which, coupled with his wages, means the Georgian could ultimately cost the Red Devils around £116 million.
