In a transfer saga which seemed to go on forever, Manchester United finally agreed a deal for the signature of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

It is believed a deal worth around £73 million has been made for the 21-year-old wing wizard, and he will link up with the Red Devils after the European Championship.

Sancho’s arrival will add extra thrust, class and goals to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking line, who are already looking like a scary prospect for next season.

United finished second to Manchester City in the last campaign in what was their best league finish under the Norwegian manager, however, the signing of the former City youth product is a real statement of intent.

However, according to Germany sports outlet Bild, United’s transfer activity is only just beginning as they have allegedly made contact with the agent of Leon Goretzka, whose contract is set to expire in 2022.

Goretzka scored the crucial equaliser against Hungary to send Germany into the knockout stages.

The powerful Bayern Munich midfielder was part of the spine which saw the Bavarians win the treble in the 2019/20 season, combining with Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich.

Midfield is one of the main positions Solskjaer wants to address this season and it is believed the manager is such a big fan of the former Schalke man, that United have already made contact with his agent with view of him becoming a Red Devil.

Bayern have already seen David Alaba leave on a free transfer, and it has been reported if Goretzka does not agree a contract extension, then they do not want him to leave for nothing like the Austrian did.

With Paul Pogba’s future once again uncertain, Goretzka could be another hugely important name to add to United if they want to challenge for a first Premier League title since 2013.
