Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has admitted he’d be open to a move to the Premier League should he leave the Spanish side in the near future.
The France international, who picked up the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament at this summer’s European Championships in his home country, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford to join up with his compatriot, Paul Pogba.
Speaking to Telefoot (via Goal), the forward said;
“I prefer to stay in La Liga or maybe move to the Premier League. I have heard the Premier League is crazy, so why not?”
He went on to rule out a move to La Liga rivals Real Madrid, but admitted Barcelona could be interesting, yet unlikely considering their attacking talent.
“A transfer between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is not an option,
“Barcelona would be an option. But they have three untouchables in attack at the moment.”
However, the 25-year-old, who has bagged nine goals in 17 outings so far this season, did state that he is not yet thinking of leaving the Vicente Calderon any time soon, adding; “But I do not want to leave Atletico at all costs,” which could be a blow to Jose Mourinho’s hope of uniting Pogba and his international teammate in Manchester.
