Manchester United’s search for a first win of the Europa League group stage goes on after their 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce on Thursday.

The Red Devils had drawn against FC Twente and Porto in their opening two matches of the competition, but they looked to be on course for victory when Christian Eriksen netted his fourth goal of the season.

Fenerbahce – managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho – levelled things up after the break, though, through Youssef En-Nesyri.

Neither side could find a winner, meaning United how now drawn all three of their games in the group phase and sit 21st in the 36-team league table.

Manager Erik ten Hag is once again under pressure following his side’s dire start to the new season, with United having won just four of their 13 games across all competitions so far.

Off the pitch, though, the Manchester club appear to be chasing a Championship sensation.

As per GiveMeSport, United are eyeing a move for highly-rated Sunderland youngster Chris Rigg.

Ratcliffe and those in charge of United are keen to sign talented young players

The report claims that the Premier League side have been monitoring the 17-year-old, who made his senior debut for the Black Cats at the age of 15.

The midfielder has now played 37 times for Sunderland and has been instrumental in helping Regis Le Bris’ side to sit top of the second tier table after 11 games.

Rigg has scored three goals so far this term, taking his tally for the club to six.

The teenager’s contract is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, but United could make a move to sign the sensation next year as they look to bolster Ten Hag’s midfield options.
