The Paul Pogba transfer saga seems to have been going on ever since the Frenchman returned to Manchester United from Juventus in 2016.

The 2018 World Cup winner has been linked with a move elsewhere almost relentlessly throughout his second stint in Manchester, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and even former club Juventus all touted as possible suitors for the talented midfielder.

The 28-year-old’s current deal expires next summer and the midfielder could therefore be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee, in order for United to avoid losing him for free next summer.

Pogba has reportedly made it clear he wants to leave and has no interest in signing an extension with his current employers.

Now, there appears to be a shock twist in the long-running saga, with French outlet Le10 Sport reporting that the player has been offered to United’s fierce rivals Liverpool.

Pogba has reportedly been offered to United’s bitter rivals Liverpool.

The surprise claims state that the player’s agent Mino Raiola has told Jurgen Klopp that he would be able to secure a deal for his client if he wished to do so.

Liverpool have been widely reported to be chasing a midfielder after the loss of Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer to PSG earlier this summer.

The report also states, however, that Liverpool have told Raiola that they are not currently interested in the player, but may return in January when he will be in the final six months of his deal.

If a transfer was agreed between the two clubs, it would send shockwaves around the footballing world, and also do little to heal the at times fractious relationship between Pogba and United fans.
