Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will hope to see his side build on their 2-0 win against Sunderland when they face Liverpool next time out.

The Red Devils have endured a poor start to the new campaign but did beat the Black Cats in their final match before the international break.

That result moved United up to tenth in the Premier League table, but ex-Sporting CP boss Amorim will be keen to see his side improve in the coming weeks, starting with their game against rivals Liverpool.

Ahead of the match, it has emerged that United have identified a Serie A star as their top transfer target for next year.

As per CaughtOffside, United are hoping to sign Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz next year.

The report claims that the Manchester side are leading the race to sign the Turkey international in 2026, despite interest in the player from both Chelsea and Arsenal.

While the Blues and the Gunners are also interested in the 20-year-old, the report suggests that United are likely to be willing to pay a higher amount for the attacking midfielder.

It is claimed that United could even be willing to pay as much as £78 million for the youngster, who has been in fine form for the Old Lady at the start of the new campaign.

Yildiz joined Juventus from German giants Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since played more than 90 times for the Italian outfit across all competitions.

He has scored 18 goals and provided 15 assists in that time, including a combined six goals and assists in eight games so far this season.

Yildiz is under contract in Turin until the end of the 2028/29 season, but it appears that the Serie A giants could face a battle to keep hold of the star beyond next year.
