Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has hit out at the club in a shock interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese sat down to talk to Morgan in an exclusive interview, and he didn’t hold back in terms of his comments on both the club and manager Erik ten Hag.

According to Morgan’s column with The Sun, Ronaldo has criticised a number of aspects of the way that the club is currently run, accusing United of betraying him and making him a ‘black sheep’.

The 37-year-old has heavily criticised both former boss Ralf Rangnick and current manager Ten Hag.

“If you’re not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I’d never even heard of him,” he said about Rangnick, who hadn’t held a managerial position for over a decade before taking charge of United last year.

Speaking about Ten Hag, Ronaldo admitted that he doesn’t have respect for the Dutchman, and also spoke about his apparent refusal to be substituted on against Tottenham Hotspur last month.

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” he said about the former Ajax boss.

Ronaldo has endured a tough season at Old Trafford having been used primarily as a substitute by Ten Hag.
The Portuguese returned to United last summer and enjoyed a relatively successful campaign, scoring 24 goals in 38 matches across all competitions.

Ronaldo has started the majority of games this season on the bench

This season has been a different story, though, as the Portugal international has started just four Premier League games.
Ronaldo’s problems this term started over the summer when he reportedly told the club that he wishes to leave in order to join a club competing in the Champions League.
The forward was late to report for pre-season training, which is one of the reasons that Ten Hag has blamed his exclusion this season for.
Ronaldo reveals that his late return was due to the tragic loss of his son at birth, something that he claims United showed a lack of empathy towards.
Prior to returning to United, Ronaldo had been linked with a sensational move to rivals Manchester City, but United legend Sir Alex Ferguson persuaded the player to reconsider his next move.
“I followed my heart,” he said.
“Sir Alex told me ‘it is impossible for you to go to Manchester City’, so I said OK, boss.”
After a fairytale second debut for the club during which he scored twice against Newcastle United, the forward is now in a tricky position and his time at United looks increasingly likely to end in January.
Ronaldo was linked with a number of clubs over the summer but he apparently failed to attract enough interest from other sides, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will be able to secure a move away from United in January.
