Manchester United are reportedly working on a deal to bring Portugal international Andre Gomes to Old Trafford in the summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzo.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who narrowly defeated League One Sheffield United 1-0 in the FA Cup on Saturday, face competition from Italian sides Napoli and Juventus for the Valencia midfielder’s signature.

The 22-year-old, who has four international caps for his country, has scored two goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for Gary Neville’s La Liga outfit this season.

Gomes, who is valued at around €30m (Tribal Football) and been linked with a similar move to rivals Manchester City, is thought to be urged towards a move to Louis van Gaal’s side thanks to his agent Jorge Mendes.
