Many questions were asked when Manchester United signed Edinson Cavani on a free last summer.

Could he still do it at the top level? Had he lost the appetite?

Now nearing the end of his first season at Old Trafford, everyone can agree that the Uruguayan has offered the Red Devils a whole new dimension up top.

Even at the age of 34, Cavani is by far the club’s outstanding central striker and proved so once again with four goals in the Europa League semi-final tie against Roma.

It’s yet unclear if the ex-PSG star will still be at United next season but, whether he is or isn’t, it seems as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his eye on adding another centre-forward to his squad.

According to Frankfurter Rundschau, the Premier League side are interested in bringing in Frankfurt goal-getter Andre Silva.

Silva has found his form in Germany.

The 25-year-old has been in great form since moving to Germany, netting 42 goals in 68 matches for the German side.

It’s claimed that an offer of £35 million would be accepted by the Bundeslga side for the ex-AC Milan man.

For a striker who has the same amount of Bundesliga goals as Erling Haaland this term (25), surely that price is a no-brainer for a United hierarchy who will be under pressure to recruit in order to close the gap on Man City next season.
