Manchester United have reportedly joined Chelsea in the running to sign Colombia star James Rodriguez.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who were humiliated by struggling Norwich City 2-1 at Old Trafford last weekend, are keeping a close eye on the Real Madrid attacking midfielder’s situation at the Bernabeu this campaign.

The 24-year-old, who joined Madrid from AS Monaco last summer for around €80m, has scored three goals in ten appearances for the La Liga giants so far this season.

After local reports suggested that Rodriguez has fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez over his limited first-team chances this term, Premier League rivals United and Chelsea are waiting in the wings if the Colombian ace decides to leave Spain in the New Year.
