Manchester United are reportedly ready to scupper Chelsea’s pursuit of Colombia international Carlos Bacca, according to Don Balon.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who drew 3-3 at Newcastle United on Tuesday night, are keen to strengthen their attacking ranks during the January transfer window with the capture of the AC Milan striker.

The 29-year-old, who has 25 international caps for his country, has scored ten goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants this season.

Bacca, who arrived at the San Siro from Sevilla in a deal worth €30m back in July, is now reportedly a transfer target of Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils as well as Premier League rivals Chelsea this month.

However the report suggests that Guus Hiddink’s Blues are the only side willing to meet Milan’s £30m asking price so far.
