Manchester United are reportedly preparing themselves for a £40m bid from Real Madrid for goalkeeper David De Gea.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who face defending champions Chelsea at Old Trafford this evening, are expected to be the subject of another raid from the La Liga giants for the Spain international at the end of the current campaign.

The 25-year-old, who only signed a new four year contract with United at the start of this term, has kept nine clean sheets in 21 appearances for Louis van Gaal’s side so far this season.

De Gea, who has seven international caps for the defending European champions, was the subject of a failed £29m move to the Bernabeu during the summer market.
