Manchester United have reportedly been linked with a move for Uruguay international Edinson Cavani.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit third in the standings after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Leicester City, are desperate to bolster their attacking options in the forthcoming January transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who has 78 international caps to his name, has scored an impressive ten goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain so far this season.
But local media reports suggest PSG boss Laurent Blanc is willing to sell the Uruguayan hitman during the New Year period in order for the club to buy a big-name replacement in the French capital, alerting Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal to Cavani’s services.
However the former Napoli striker is poised to setback United around £32m in January if they want to prize their number one transfer target to Old Trafford next month.
