Man Utd target Newcastle United’s fan favourite

Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise swoop for Newcastle United fan favourite Ayoze Perez.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit third in the standings, are weighing up a move for the forward once the January transfer window opens.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at St James’ Park for an estimated £1.4m last June from Tenerife, has scored once in eight appearances in all competitions for Steve McClaren’s rock-bottom Magpies.

Perez, who is a former Spain Under-21 international, scored seven goals in 39 games during his debut campaign in the Premier League last term.
