Manchester United have reportedly been told to stump up more than £14m if they want to sign Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who are just two points behind joint-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal in fourth place in the table, are interested in the Germany international ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan at Besiktas this season, has scored an impressive nine goals in 15 games in all competitions for the Super Lig outfit so far.

The Turkish club’s president Fikret Orman revealed that the club would only consider offer of around €20m for Gomez, who is set to seal a permanent move to Besiktas at the end of the season given his current release clause.
