Manchester City have reportedly agreed a £30million deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to The Sun.

After weeks of discussions, it is understood that incoming City manager Pep Guardiola, and director of football Txiki Begiristain, have struck a deal with the Bundesliga giants for the 25-year-old.

The Citizens, who this week reached the Champions League semi-finals after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 on aggregate, are set for a big summer in the transfer market as they look to once again compete for the Premier League title next term, with the Germany international said to be one of the club’s top targets.

With Yaya Toure set to leave the Etihad at the end of the season, City are looking to strengthen their midfield and a move for Gundogan, who has made more than 150 appearances for Dortmund since joining in 2011, scoring 15 goals, appears to be edging ever closer.
