Manchester City, Chelsea and Leicester City have all shown an interest in Football League starlet George Lapslie, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League trio, who currently sit fourth, first and tenth in the English top-flight standings with only six or seven games remaining of the 2015-16 campaign, are keeping close tabs on Charlton Athletic’s highly-rated midfielder ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Lapslie, who is captain of the Addicks’ Under-18 side and has already featured for their Under-21 squad, has trained with the first-team and travelled with them for their FA Cup defeat to League One outfit Colchester United back in January.

Having risen through the youth ranks at Charlton, Lapslie is heavily tipped to make a push for a first-team breakthrough in the short-term future, replicating the likes of Scott Parker and Paul Konchesky in becoming the London club’s next academy starlet.

Jose Riga’s Charlton are currently second bottom in the Championship standings, seven points adrift of safety with only six fixtures left.
