The 2021 summer transfer window could well prove to be one of the busiest in recent years, with a number of long-running transfer sagas and huge rumours all simmering.

The future of Erling Braut Haaland will undoubtedly be one of the most talked about things this summer, with Chelsea recently being touted as the Norwegian’s most likely next destination, much to the disgruntlement of Manchester City fans.

The reigning Premier League champions had been linked with Haaland, as well as a host of other top forwards from around Europe, as they look to replace all-time top goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who departed for Barcelona in June.

However, it appears that there could be good news on the horizon for City fans, with The Sun reporting that the club are moving closer to signing Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane.

The report suggests that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has reluctantly changed his mind on Kane’s future, and decided to let the England captain leave this summer.

Last season’s Premier League golden boot winner won’t come cheap though, with the report stating that the deal will be worth £160 million, and that Kane will sign a contract worth £400,000-per-week.

Kane scored in three out of England’s four knock-out games at Euro 2020.

Levy allegedly told Kane and the rest of the Spurs team of his decision last Friday, and source stated that “Harry is delighted. He never wanted to leave on bad terms.”

The Englishman is alleged to have told his family of his plans while acting as best man at his brother’s wedding.

His brother Charlie is also his agent, and the news was the hot topic at the wedding on Sunday.

It is also stated that a move to Man City is Spurs’ preference, as they didn’t want to sell to a fellow London rival, namely Chelsea or Arsenal.

It is also believed that Kane’s performances at Euro 2020, particularly his winning goal against Denmark in the semi-final, may have put “another £20 million or so on his price tag.”

Whilst personal terms have not yet been agreed, it is believed that a deal will be easily agreed as both parties are very keen to get things done before the season starts.
